Lindsey Scott, B.A.

Practicum/Internship Student

What do I do at CAPS?

Hi, I’m Lindsey, an intern at CAPS. Currently I am pursuing an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. I obtained my B.A. in Psychology and Spanish at Spring Arbor University in Michigan. I am working under supervision to complete intake interviews and serving clients who are on the primary path for counseling.

What is it like to work with me?

My goal is for clients to feel heard, valued, and open to share their story. I desire to honor and respect each client’s unique story and implement strategies which promote healing and hope into their lives. My interests include helping students through life transitions, relational challenges, stress management, anxiety, and depression. I developed a passion for working with college students through my work in leadership roles at my undergraduate university and in the Office of Residence Life at Liberty University. I am privileged to encourage and support students, and I hope that each client leaves feeling more understood, valued, and equipped to face challenges than when they walked in.

What do I do outside of CAPS?

In addition to CAPS and graduate school, I work as an administrative graduate assistant in the Social Work Department at Liberty University. When not studying or working, I am engaged in physical or social activities. I have a passion for fitness and love playing tennis, pickleball, running, and hiking. I also enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, which often involves sharing meals, conversations, Bible studies, and board games. I have a heart for serving others through involvement in my church and community group.
