Emily Ellis, M.A., LPC, CEDS
Assistant Director for Outreach & Embedded Services
What I do in Counseling & Psychological Services?
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology with a minor in business from Trine University and a Master’s Degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling from Grace college, both located in rural Indiana. I have experience in a variety of settings: outpatient, home-based, residential, church, and university settings. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapy (EDIT III) Certified, and EMDR trained.
What is it like to work with me?
I have a heart for perfectionism. I’m often talking about the importance of being human. I believe in the profound freedom that comes with truly experiencing the fullness of our humanity: the beauty, the imperfection, and the pain. I love helping others recognize we’re all more human than otherwise and that’s exactly how we were designed. I enjoy accompanying depth of emotion with lighthearted humor.
What I do outside of Counseling & Psychological Services?
I have an amazing husband and community of friends. So, I spend a great deal of my free time enjoying time with my people. On sunny days, you’ll often find me sitting outside with my dog enjoying a good book! Along with reading, I love alpacas, french fries, puzzles and house plants.
We are not our problems.
We are not our wounds.
We are not our sins.
We are persons of radical worth and unrevealed beauty.
